MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida woman traveling abroad returned home with several broken bones after she was injured in a hit and run accident.

Sixty-three-year-old Zena Friedman and her sister were on their final day of their vacation in Bali, Indonesia when she was hit by a taxi. She suffered a punctured lung, broken neck and broken ribs.

Witnesses said the cab driver got out of the car, thought she was dead and sped away.

Her friends and family are now raising the funds needed to transport her to Malaysia for operations totaling more than $35,000. Tracey Auspitz, a friend of Friedman, said, "She is in excruciating pain. Only today did they give her morphine, but when I spoke to her sister via Skype you could hear the screams in the background. She is in excruciating pain. She is laying in a bed with 11 fractured ribs."

For information on how you can help get Friedman the care she needs, log on to your Facebook page and search for the group "ZENA Friedman Medical Fund."
