MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida rapper took the stand in court after he was robbed at a barbershop two years ago.

South Florida rapper British Bitchell, better known as "Brisco," took the stand Tuesday in court after a robbery that occurred on October 2009 in a Miami barbershop.

The surveillance video was released in court and showed Brisco getting a hair cut. Then, four armed men stormed into the barbershop.

The suspects are accused of robbing Brisco and pistol-whipping him.

Brisco: "One of the guys hit me with the gun."

Defense: "Where did he hit you?"

Brisco: "Like on the side of my head."

Cathlyn Palmer is now on trial after being accused of being one of the alleged suspects in the robbery.

The defense argued in court that there is no way Brisco can identify the suspects because his face was down on the floor.

Defense: "You kept your face right on the ground because you didn't want to take the chance?"

Brisco: "They ordered us to be faced down, and I was down to the side, and I had my head to the side most of the time."

Brisco is also facing an assault charge in another case. The defense has therefore called him an untrustworthy witness.

Defense: "Did the police ask you about whether or not you had a gun?"

Brisco: "Yes."

Defense: "OK, and did you lie to them or did you tell them the truth when you answered?"

Brisco: "At first, I lied."

Brisco is a successful rapper and has recorded records with Lil' Wayne and Rick Ross.

The trial is expected to last several days.
