WESTON, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida gas station will have to undergo repairs after a driver smashed into its front entrance, Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m., at the Citgo just south of Interstate 75 on Indian Trace. Police said the driver crashed into the doors of the gas station's store.

Surveillance cameras inside the store, caught the sport utility vehicle crashing through the glass door and a window, spraying shattered glass and even sending an ice cream cooler flying. The driver then backed up her SUV and got out to look inside the store and talk to the clerk.

Camilo Cuartas was working when the driver crashed into the store and said he has a theory about what lead to the accident. "She came in to by cigarettes, and I think she was trying to hit the brake, but she put the gas."

The gas station's manager, Maria Eugenia Botero, arrived soon after and was grateful to learn no one was injured. "Thank God nobody was hurt, and everything was fine," she said. "She was fine, and there were no customers in the gas station, so we're happy for that."

The car had to be towed away from the scene.

Workers are boarding up the damaged area, and they hope to have the glass installed in a couple of days.

Charges against the driver are pending.
