Anna Nicole judge settles suit over neighbor

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- An attorney involved in the civil case accusing former Broward Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin of swindling an elderly widowed neighbor out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and property has been resolved with a confidential settlement.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the settlement was reached with the family of Barbara Kasler, who died in November 2010 at age 84. Kasler had lived in the same Fort Lauderdale condo building as Seidlin, who gained notoriety in 2007 while presiding over the Anna Nicole Smith death case.
The suit accused Seidlin of taking money and trying to hijack Kasler's $5 million estate. The suit also claims Seidlin's in-laws, Oren and Barbara Ray, bought a condo from Kasler at an unfair discount.
The Rays' attorney confirmed the settlement Wednesday but wouldn't disclose any details.
