WEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Graduation day has a special meaning for one South Florida man.

Aaron Alvin, 50, is set to graduate from Florida International University, Tuesday.

Alvin went from being a homeless drug addict to a graduate student, turning his life around in a matter of years. "I never thought I would get here. It's amazing. You're going to have to pull me down from cloud nine," said Alvin. "It's going to be great, it's going to be fantastic. All I wanted to do is get a degree and now i'm getting my master's."

Earning his Master's degree in Social Work, Alvin hopes to work with the homeless at Camillus House.
