Police search for mailbox bandit

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a juvenile who stole a package from a mailbox at a South Florida home.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon at a house along Sixth Street and South Rainbow Drive. Surveillance cameras captured the young boy taking the package from the mailbox.

When the homeowner tried to stop him, the boy took off running with a woman.

"Even the police officers said she's putting him up to it, and he said, when I confronted them, they took off, they went down to the stop and made a right," said Sunni Ziroff. "I mean they were running. He [police] said there was probably another vehicle at the end of the street waiting for them."

Police believe the female accomplice was casing the area looking at homes to target.
