MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida math whiz returned home after competing in an elite math contest.

Pablo Hernandez, 16, arrived back in Miami, Friday, after competing in the Who Wants to Be a Mathematician competition in Boston.

Hernandez, an 11th grader who attends Miami Springs Senior High School, was one of only 10 students nationwide to compete in the contest. "The competition, well what I went up to was a semi final and questions consisted of probability, number theory, combinatorics, algebra and geometry and history math," said Hernandez.

After finishing 4th in his division, Hernandez won money for himself and his school.
