Road closures for firefighters' procession

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Drivers can expect intermittent road closures during the procession for a veteran Pompano Beach firefighter.

The funeral procession will begin just before 10:30 a.m. Friday at Citi Center, located on Federal Highway and NE 18 Street (Just south of Copans Road), and will continue as follows:

-South on Federal Highway to Atlantic Boulevard.
-West on Atlantic Boulevard to Powerline Road.
-South on Powerline Road to Cypress Creek Road.
-West on Cypress Creek Road to the main entrance to Calvary Chapel campus at the traffic light on Cypress Creek Road.

The city notes, "Understanding processions are unpredictable, we anticipate the procession arriving at the church between 11:45 a.m. and 12 noon."

Funeral services for Pompano Beach Firefighter Bill Elliott will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the Calvary Chapel located at 2401 West Cypress Creek Road in Ft. Lauderdale. Calvary Chapel will be web streaming the service live at www.calvaryftl.org.
