Local store hosts food and toy drive

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Hundreds of South Florida families in need received food and toys thanks to a local furniture store.

El Dorado Furniture, along with Amigos for Kids, hosted a toy and food drive outside of their store on Calle Ocho in Miami, Sunday.

Volunteers handed out 10,000 pounds of donated food to hundreds of families in need, as well as toys for children. "We're giving away thousands of toys to children here today," said Jorge Plasencia, co-founder of Amigos for Kids. "It's a very special way to give back to our community and Amigos for Kids, we say, 'Thank you' for 20 great years."

The toys were handed out just before the Three Kings Parade.
