MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida family is outraged after they say a stranger went to a 5-year-old's school, claiming to be the child's relative, and stole her gold chain.

On Tuesday morning, 5-year-old Wilnia Kimpson said a stranger lured her out of the cafeteria at her school, Orchard Villa Elementary, along 13th Avenue and Northwest 58th Street.

Wilnia said the woman claimed to be her aunt, took her into a hallway at the school, then snatched her gold necklace. "The girl pulled my chain off," said Kimpson, who is a student in the Headstart program at the school.

Kimpson's mother, Jermika Guyton, claims school employees did not check the ID of Ashley McCloud, who reportedly came to the school and asked to see Wilnia. "You're bold, for you to come to someone's school and approach a child," said Guyton. "Then, you're lying, saying, 'I'm on the phone with her father.' You lured her out. That's a serious matter. You don't do that."

Hours later, police located McCloud and the stolen chain, and took McCloud into custody. "We later retrieved the chain, but my thing is, you guys are not watching the kids. All it takes is for a blink of an eye, and your child is gone. This is a very serious matter," Guyton said. "The school didn't do anything, Early Headstart didn't do anything to protect my child. Anything could have happened to my daughter. Anything!"

Both Headstart and the school district said they are looking into the matter. The Headstart program said it plans to speak with its staff members to figure out how the incident happened.

McCloud has been charged with robbery and trespassing on school property. She is currently being held at the Miami-Dade County Jail on a $18,000 bond.
