FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested two teenagers who allegedly broke into and robbed a South Florida business.

Surveillance video showed a thief breaking into the Game Time Electronics store in Fort Lauderdale by dropping through the store's ceiling, Saturday night.

The business owner, Luis Cargo, said the thief immediately went for the gun, which is kept in the store. "He shot, he just shot, he shot twice," said Cargo.

About an hour after the break in, surveillance video once again captured the crook breaking into the store, this time with a partner-in-crime. Cargo said the duo made off with pricey items from the store. "He stole a few iPads, iPhones, one laptop, a few electronics from the back, things that we repair for customers," he said.

An officer is seen checking out a door of the business that night. Moments later, the thief is seen sneaking out of the same door. Investigators say the video is not what it seems. "The video appeared that our police officer didn't do their job, and he certainly did. That video was cut," said Fort Lauderdale Police Lt. Frank Sousa. "The officer not only took the time to check the business but came back a second time, and there was still no sign of forced entry."

After the story aired on 7News, a viewer recognized one of the faces in the video. "We received information based on a video that was aired on Channel 7 on a possible suspect," said Sousa. "Our detectives were able to quickly work this case and bring in someone that was identified to us."

Police arrested the two teenagers in connection to the case.

After the arrest, Cargo received a surprising visitor at his store. "The mother of the guy came in, and she actually handed over our laptop and saying she was sorry for the whole thing and she raised a good kid," he said. "And I do understand that, but when you're running a business and all this damage and money lost, you just can't feel sorry for anyone at these moments in time."

According to police, the teenagers also confessed to breaking into another business in September.

The suspects are facing burglary and grand theft charges.
