Deadly crash on major highway

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A driver is killed after crashing into another vehicle on a major South Florida highway.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes on Interstate 75, north of the Northwest 138th Street exit in Hialeah, Friday.

Florida Highway Patrol said a car crossed the median and then slammed into a box truck. The person in the car died at the scene. The truck driver taken to the hospital.

All southbound lanes were shut down for hours and traffic was diverted off the interstate.

All lanes have since reopened.
