Missing teen found safe at a friend's house

MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida teen who went missing for a week has been reunited with her parents.
Authorities said Naketa Leiba, 17, disappeared last Wednesday on her way home from school. Detectives found her unharmed at a friend's apartment, whom she had been staying with, near Sherman Circle and 84th Avenue.
Officials said she voluntarily gave a sworn statement to police, stating that she ran away from home and was not coerced or held against her will.
Loved ones spent days passing out flyers and made a public plea for any information that would lead to her safe return.
The teen's father expressed gratitude since being reunited with his daughter. "We're going to take her to the hospital and get a physical. We thank everyone for their support. We're glad that our daughter is back," said Michael Leiba.
The teen's dad said he wanted his daughter checked out by doctors as a precaution.
