MIAMI (WSVN) -- Two teens are in the hospital after they became victims of a drive-by shooting.

The shooting occurred Friday night in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami.

Two teenage boys, ages 13 and 14, were riding their bikes in their neighborhood when they were shot in a drive-by. "This is the life that we live every day, and something needs to be done about it. We have police in the area, it seems like they're not catching anyone. I think a police [officer] should be in each area every day," said Barbara, who heard the gunshots. "It's sad that the kids got shot, but this goes on every day. I have a 3-year-old. He knows when to get down, and that's sad."

The victims were transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Charamaine Chatfield, the older sister of one of the victims, said a bullet grazed her brother's leg, and after the shooting occurred, he tried to get up and run away. "It's sad, because the kids can't even play in the neighborhood. It's like so much going on, it's really sad, my brother's scared, traumatized. He's scared. He tried to get up and run after he got shot," she said.

According to Chatfield, the two young victims are expected to be OK.

The gunman is still at large.

If you have any information on this shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
