Body discovered in local rapper's yard

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities are investigating a dead body found in the yard of a home that belongs to rapper Rick Ross.
According to Miami Gardens Police, they received reports of gunshots fired in the area of Northwest 181st Street and 32nd Avenue, early Wednesday morning. Police said, as they were driving around the neighborhood, they came across the body of Gregory Nesbitt.
Just days away from turning 40, he turned up dead on the front lawn of William Leonard Roberts II, aka Rick Ross, the legal home owner. Ted Astor, the victim's neighbor, was saddened to hear of Nesbitt's murder. "I'm real sorry to hear that," he said. "His mom's real nice, his sons, his brothers...It's just sad."
Miami Gardens Police Sgt. Bill Bamford said, "They do have neighbors that did hear some gunshots. They are talking to them to see what they heard and when they heard it, and hopefully put the pieces of this puzzle together and find out who killed this man."
The rapper was not home at the time. Neighbors said he is not at the home very often and uses it as a recording studio. Authorities said he is not a suspect. However, police do want to question him because he is the homeowner.
Police have identified the victim and notified his family. His SUV was swiped fingerprints and towed away from the scene.
