Pedestrian struck by car injured

TAMARAC, Fla. (WSVN) -- A pedestrian is recovering in the hospital after a car plowed into her as she was exiting a bus.

The accident occurred Thursday night in the area of Commercial Boulevard and Northwest 31st Avenue. Police said, the 35-year-old woman was crossing the street but was not in a crosswalk when she was struck.

The driver stayed on the scene and has not been charged in the incident.

Rescue crews transported the woman to Broward General Medical Center with severe head injuries.
