MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly made a false bomb threat to a South Florida airport.

Authorities arrested 45-year-old Frank Currier for making a false bomb threat and false 911 call, Saturday.

Currier allegedly called in a bomb threat claiming a passenger on a flight had a chemical bomb on his laptop at Miami International Airport.

The call turned out to be a prank.

Police traced the call to Currier's Fort Lauderdale home. Neighbors called it an act of stupidity. "It's very shocking because you know it's a quiet area. The neighbors are great, and we know somebody who is a frequent visitor at that home but wouldn't expect anything like this," said neighbor Stacy Lemont.

Additional charges could be added.

Currier bonded out of jail early Sunday morning.
