Tractor-trailer collision closes roadway for hours

WESTON, Fla. (WSVN) -- A collision involving two tractor-trailers shutdown U.S. Highway 27 for several hours during the morning commute.
The collision occurred just after 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes of US-27, just north of Griffin Road. The impact caused one of the trailers to burst into flames.
Both drivers managed to escape from their 18-wheelers.
Rescue crews transported both drivers to area hospitals, where their condition is unknown.
The accident shutdown the southbound lanes of US-27 for several hours, forcing commuters to seek alternate routes.
One northbound and one southbound lane has since been re-opened.
