El Dorado donates furniture to 45 families

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Dozens of deserving families received free furniture, thanks to a well-known South Florida furniture store and several non-profit organizations.
El Dorado Furniture is celebrating its 45th anniversary in South Florida by giving back to 45 families in need.
One of the families who benefited from the generous giveaway was Maylan Chavez and her family. "We would have never been able to afford half of the things that El Dorado has," Maylan said.
The 17-year-old is completely dependent upon a ventilator, and has a nurse who visits her Hialeah home every day. El Dorado arrived at Maylan's home on Friday with the donation, which filled several rooms of her home with some much-needed furniture. Maylan said, "It just makes everything more home-y."
El Dorado also went to Ariel Lopez' Southwest Miami-Dade home on Friday, and gave the 15-year-old something many people take for granted. "I got a new bed, and I've never had a bed. Now I do," said Ariel.
Ariel is currently awaiting a kidney transplant, but even as his hospital visits increase, he and his family now have several new items to make their home a bit sweeter. "Wow! We're gonna sleep better, comfortable. Really nice furniture," said Ariel's mother, Ana Lopez.
The furniture donation brought lots of happiness to the families, who expressed their gratitude to the company. Ariel said, "Thank you! I appreciate it a lot."
El Dorado Furniture will provide over $250,000 in new furniture, interior design service, delivery, and set up to the families.
