Crooks ransack church, damage communion table

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Would-be robbers committed an unholy act at a South Florida church.
Crooks targeted and ransacked the Brownsville Baptist Church along Northwest 60th Street and 27th Avenue.
Pastor Martay McCullough says the burglars broke in through a window, destroyed equipment, cut power lines and even damaged the communion table. "It's a sad thing that folks have lost regard for the house of worship, for God's house," he said. "To break in God's house is one thing, and to come in and tamper around with the communion table is another thing."
The church was forced to replace its damaged stereo system.
The would-be thieves also tried to steal the air conditioning unit, presumably for its copper wiring.
If you have any information on this crime, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
