Driver accused of slamming into diner arrested

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- The driver of a truck that smashed into a diner is now behind bars.

Christopher Harwood, 29, is charged with careless driving and leaving the scene of a crash. Deputies said Harwood drove a rented truck into the Peter Pan Diner last Monday.

On Thursday he appeared before a judge who denied him bond.

The crash caused an overhang to collapse and crush the diner owner's car.
