Bomb Squad detonates suspicious package in Coral Gables

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities discovered another suspicious package in South Florida.

Police set up a perimeter around Ponce de Leon Boulevard and US 1, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities also evacuated buildings in the area of the suspicious finding.

The bomb squad responded to the scene and used a robot to detonate the package. Authorities are still unsure what was inside.

The incident came a day after police handled two suspicious packages that were found in a nearby Miami neighborhood. Those packages turned out to be a pair of cell phones.
