So. Fla. student to appear in Rock of Ages

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida college student will star in a Broadway-inspired movie.

Alexis Adler is ready for her close up and is hitting the big screen for the first time in "Rock of Ages." "They told me, 'Oh my God, you got it. You get to dance with Tom Cruise.' I was so excited, so when I saw him, I didn't freak out."

The 25-year-old aspiring actress, who attends the New World School of the Arts, caught the eye of choreographer Mia Michaels, who cast her as a principal during a rocking scene with Tom Cruise. "I'm supposed to be this crazy fan. He pulls me out of the audience, I come around him. He kisses me on my cheek and then I faint, and then the bodyguard drags me off stage," she said.

Adler said working with Tom Cruise was amazing. "Tom Cruise is the real deal, so professional and so compassionate," she said.
