Storm causes ceiling collapse in apartment

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- A strong storm proved to be too much for a ceiling in a South Florida family's home.

A living room ceiling collapsed in a North Miami apartment along Northeast 128th Street and Seventh Avenue.

Carlo Dumarsais says he and his family were watching TV when the ceiling fell on top of them. "Well, right now looking at the situation, you know, my wife is pregnant, and we need a place to stay right now, so we cannot live like that."

The roof could not handle the amount of rain that fell Friday night.

Some areas also saw strong winds and hail in that storm.
