Family: Stranger found in mother's hospital room

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida family has a critical concern after a mistaken identity resulted in a complete stranger watching over their loved one in the hospital.
Adriana Gordon could not believe her eyes when she walked into her 80-year-old mother's room at Coral Gables Hospital, Sunday morning, and discovered a woman by her bedside.
According to Gordon, the woman, who she thinks is homeless, was feeding her mother. "It was a lady at the room, feeding my mom, kissing her, touching her, hugging her," she said. "It was some kind of food, we don't know where that came from, so I went running outside asking the nurses, 'What's going on here? There's a lady inside the room, feeding my mother. What's going on here?'"
Gordon said the nurses had no answer and neither did the strange woman who would only moan when asked what she was doing in the room before she calmly walked out of the hospital. "She was not talking to anybody," said Gordon. "She was just looking at me and she was like, 'Mmmmm.'"
Paulina Moya is in the hospital for an operation to have fluid removed from her stomach. In a video taken by Moya's granddaughter, Moya explains she thought the mystery woman was sent to her room by the hospital staff. In Spanish she says, "She kissed and hugged me but didn't speak to me. I thought she was someone from the hospital."
"And they say that they're watching her through a camera," said Evelyn Ghitis, Moya's granddaughter, "that they're watching everybody through a camera-- the people who come in through a camera-- but they have one security guard who is not on the camera all the time, and I've seen him multiple times walking around, and I'm asking him, 'So who's watching the camera?' And he says, 'Nobody.'"
Coral Gables Hospital released a statement reading: "We promptly asked the individual to leave and have launched an internal review. Out of an abundance of caution, we also notified local law enforcement. The safety and security of our patients is a top priority for Coral Gables Hospital."
For Gordon, the incident has made the stress of having her sick mother in the hospital even greater. "I don't know what to think, I'm confused," she said. "I'm upset. I'm really stressed because that lady can kill her."
Police picked up the woman not far from the hospital. She has been Baker Acted.
Meanwhile, Moya is well enough now to come home from the hospital.
