Pedestrian struck, killed on Florida's Turnpike

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police said a pedestrian was struck multiple times on Florida's Turnpike overnight.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes, just north of the Kendall Drive exit. Officials said the pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles around 2 a.m. The victim died on the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours, but officials have since reopened all northbound lanes.

Police are investigating.
