MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- The wet weather in South Florida may wash out many people's weekend plans.

Karen Adors is visiting South Florida from Indianapolis. On Friday, she had to purchase an umbrella to shield herself from Friday's seemingly unending rain. "It says 'Miami' on it," Adors said as she showed off her new black umbrella. "We had to get an umbrella with 'Miami' written on it."

The rain put a damper on many people's plans, but it could not ruin Tannie Harris' birthday. "On our way here, because we're celebrating my birthday, I was like, 'We've gotta have a beach day! We've gotta have a beach day!' So that's the only thing. We won't get to go to the beach," said Harris, who is visiting Miami from Chicago.

Harris' friend Yvonne Coleman said, "We just got our little umbrellas and kept going."

The wet weather impacted all of South Florida, but to Julie Garrett of Austin, the rain does not change the fact that it's still Miami. "It's beautiful here, we love it. Even though it's raining, it's wonderful. The beaches are beautiful, we'll come back," she said.
