Child seriously hurt after being struck by car

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A child found himself in the path of danger after he was struck by a car.

Officials said the 6-year-old boy was hit while riding his scooter along Inverrary Boulevard and Racquet Club Drive in Lauderhill, Saturday night.

The boy was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police.
