Skateboarder hit by car hospitalized

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida teen is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a car while riding on his skateboard.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, near Pembroke Road and State Road 7. Police said the driver of the car stayed on scene after the collision.

The 18-year-old remains in critical condition at Broward Health Medical Center.
