Possible new course for local magnet school

VIRGINIA KEY, Fla. (WSVN) -- One South Florida magnet school may be getting a new course.

Miami-Dade County Superintendent Alberto Carvalho is brokering a revised proposal that preserves a lottery to gain admission into MAST Academy. MAST is also set to add two additional academies with seats slated first for Key Biscayne students.

The proposal must be passed by the school board and the Village of Key Biscayne.
