Police investigating homicide in Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have made a disturbing discovery inside a South Florida home.
An injured man went to a local hospital to receive treatment, Wednesday morning.
The man arrived at the hospital with unsubstantiated injuries, and hospital employees followed standard procedure and notified authorities to check at the man's home.
Homestead Police responded to the home, located at 1405 SE 6 St., where they found a dead woman who had been stabbed multiple times. Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said, "They entered the residence, and that's when they discovered the body."
"That was a surprise this morning, when I opened the garage door, and I see all the police over here," said neighbor Aurora Galli.
Police suspect the man who lives at the residence may have murdered the woman. They have not said what the man's injuries are, and the man's relationship to the woman has not been released. Resident Mike Garcia said, "It's just so unexpected. They always got along great."
Police are interviewing that man to determine what happened. He has not yet been charged, and his name has not been released as of yet.
The area surrounding the home remains shut down as police continue to investigate.
