2 arrested after police chase on Turnpike

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a driver who was riding in a stolen vehicle and led authorities on a pursuit.

The police chase happened Thursday night in the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike. According to authorities, police tried to stop the driver riding in a stolen car when he attempted to hit a police cruiser.

The chase ended after the driver got into an accident where the Turnpike meets Interstate 75 in Northwest Miami-Dade.

Both the driver and the passenger attempted to flee the scene but were later arrested.
