Local soldier dies in Afghanistan

TAMARAC, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida soldier has made the ultimate sacrifice.
Navy Petty Officer Second Class Michael J. Brodsky of Tamarac was killed in Afghanistan. He died in an explosion while working as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Kandahar.
"Michael was the most likable guy you will ever meet. He's a friend that everybody should have," said his grandfather, Stanley Brodsky. "If you were in trouble, if you needed help, Michael was there."
Brodsky trained bomb-sniffing dogs for the Navy and had recently re-enlisted for another six years.
Officials said Brodsky was 33 years old.
