HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A woman and her kids visiting South Florida are left devastated after her money was robbed from her purse during a moment of fun.

Chanel Bennett begged her parents to take her and her little brother to Chuck E. Cheese's on their first day visiting the States. "I feel bad," said Chanel, wiping away tears from her eyes.

Chanel and Aiden ran off to play while mom, Orla Bennett, left her purse on the table and ordered pizza. "This was the purse that I had, and this envelope was inside the purse," said Bennett.

The robbery occurred at the Chuck E. Cheese's in Hialeah Monday, just before 6 p.m.

Bennett's cash from her purse was stolen while she was looking after her kids and placing her order. "As soon as I got back to the table, my bag was still there, but I had an envelop with some money," she said. "I was going to pay for a pizza that I ordered, and I told the cashier I don't have any money, and she looked at me like, What are you talking about? And I said, 'I had money in my bag, but the money is not there.'"

The Chuck E, Cheese staff checked the surveillance video to help the mother, and the robbery was caught on camera, so they immediately called police. "Opened the purse, took the envelop out and took the money, and then put the envelop back," said Bennett.

Bennett said, "And I remember a lady sitting on a table next to mine."

The family of four who came from the Cayman Islands to see their family and shop for school supplies are now left with no money for their week-long stay. "I have nothing left, so I just have to wait until we get back to Cayman," said Bennett.

Police have looked at the surveillance video and are investigating.
