Pool party promoting Miami held in NYC

NEW YORK, NY. (WSVN) -- South Florida made a splash in the heart of Manhattan with a pool party to represent what Miami has to offer.
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau threw the pool party Tuesday in Union Square Park in New York City, and 7's Louis Aguirre was the host of the event.
The event showcased what Miami has to offer from Miami Spice, models, Miami Heat attire and Cuban Coffee. "It's only the Bureau that would think of something like this," said Chairman GMCVB Board of Directors Steven Haas. "You know, we get it, we understand it, we are all about marketing, and we know how to throw a party."
A few lucky New Yorkers won tickets to Miami for the Food and Wine Festival. "Personally, I like the beach the best," said one of the models representing Miami.
"Dancing With the Stars" professional ballroom dancer, Karina Smirnoff, also attended the event to show everyone how to salsa.
The Bureau created the event because New Yorkers represented 90 percent of the domestic tourism in Miami.
