Truck overturns on highway

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A massive cleanup is underway on the Palmetto Expressway.

A tractor trailer overturned on the northbound lanes of the 826 around 103rd Street, at about 10 a.m. Friday morning. It would not be moved over to the side of the road until just before 5 p.m.

Hialeah Fire Rescue rushed one person to the hospital. Hazmat teams reported to the scene to assist in the clean-up as oil-based paint spilled out of the truck when it was turned upright.

Most of the day, four lanes were left blocked in the area, as the clean-up continued into late in the afternoon. Florida Highway Patrol has since re-opened those lanes.
