Dump truck catches fire, spills load

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Officials said a dump truck driver was forced to spill its load after the it caught fire.

It happened at about 5:32 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway. The Florida Highway Patrol said the dump truck caught fire and had to dump its load, per procedure.

The northbound exit ramp to Okeechobee Road was closed for hours during the morning commute, as crews cleaned up the mess.

All lanes on the Palmetto Expressway have since reopened.
