MIAMI (WSVN) -- Authorities are on the scene of a police-involved shooting where one person was injured.

Officials said the shooting happened in the parking lot of a pawn shop located at Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 77th Terrace, Tuesday morning.

According to a witness, a police officer was trying to conduct a routine traffic stop when the driver of a Volkswagen did not comply. "They were telling him to get out of the vehicle, and they refused to get out of the vehicle, and that's when the shot was fired because the driver was refusing to get out of the vehicle," said Tim Braynem.

Braynem said the shot was fired by the officer.

The driver was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His condition remains unknown.

Another person, who was allegedly a passenger inside the vehicle, is in custody and being questioned by police.

Officials have shut down Northwest Seventh Avenue as the investigation continues.
