South Florida electronics store burglarized

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating a robbery at a local electronics and appliance store.
The burglary happened at the hhgregg on West 36th Street and 20th Avenue, just after 6 a.m. Wednesday. Police said four or five robbers used a vehicle to rip a security gate from the front entrance to gain entry. Authorities are waiting for the store's manager to do inventory to determine exactly what was taken.
Hialeah Police said these type of burglaries are happening across the state. "This is something that's not only occurring here in the City of Hialeah or county-wide. This is actually state-wide" said Hialeah Police Detective Eddie Rodriguez. "We've been seeing a lot of this and even across state lines, we've had several businesses throughout the state that have been burglarized in the same manner. It's a vehicle that pulls up to the front of the store. They usually smash and grab, several males make their way inside the store, and they begin to ransack the store, trying to take anything of value."
Police said the subjects remain on the loose. "Right now, we are in the process of interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance videos," said Rodriguez.
This robbery comes after two other stores in the same area were burglarized. In April, a Best Buy store was robbed and the ABC Jewelry store was the latest victim. The thieves in that robbery terrorized employees.
