Woman in hospital after parasailing accident
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A woman had to be hospitalized after a parasailing accident Wednesday afternoon.
According to Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, the 28-year-old woman was tandem parasailing with her husband. They were somewhere up as high as 150 to 250 feet in the air when the harness and tandem used to take the parasailers out somehow broke, sending the woman plummeting toward the water.
The boat's crew reeled in the husband, who was not injured, and turned the boat around to pick up the woman. Crew members found the woman floating face down on the water, in cardiac arrest.
They rushed her to shore where Pompano Beach Fire Rescue crews met them, and they took her to Broward Health North Hospital in critical condition.
The Broward Sheriff's Office Pompano Beach Fire Police are now investigating.
