Elderly man accused of molesting children

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police arrested an 81-year-old man accused of some sickening acts involving children.
Murry Snider has confessed to a lifetime of disturbing crimes. He has so far been charged with 10 counts of lewd or lascivious molestation with a child under 12, but police believe more victims are out there.
Police arrested Snider at his Margate home Tuesday. He currently sits at a North Broward jail medical facility since, as he has lung disease and has trouble breathing.
Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said Snider would have little girls call him "Grandpa," take them to his room to watch movies and then sexually assault them. So far, two girls have come forward accusing Snider of molesting them. BSO deputies said one of the victims was only 6 years old when Snider began abusing her.
The victims said this happened between 2004 and 2006, when he was a maintenance worker at the Executive Economy Lodge in Pompano Beach.
Snider was not in bond court Wednesday morning because of a lung disease he suffers from, but the judge denied him bond anyway. "The court is concerned regarding Mr. Snider that during the course of his employment, he was preying on victims. He was a maintenance man at a hotel," said Judge John Hurley.
BSO detectives said Snider has told them he has been molesting little girls since he was a kid. BSO deputies said they have identified six more victims. They have the two victims who came forward who account for 10 charges alone against Snider, and they do anticipate more victims to come forward.
If you or someone you know was abused by this man call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
