Police search for suspect after man found dead in home

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating after a 51-year-old man was found dead in his home Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities found Rafael Esquivel-Navas dead at his home, located at 9536 NW 4th Ave. "Coworkers became concerned and called the police in reference to a check and welfare call," said Miami-Dade Police Sgt. Julio Padron. "Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased body of a white Hispanic male."

Family members said Esquivel-Navas worked at the Global restaurant at Miami International Airport. A cousin of Esquivel-Navas said he worked 12 hours a day. "My cousin was a very hard-working man, he began working at 6:15 in the morning until 10:45 at night, everyday," said Sara Durec.

Investigators said Esquivel-Navas was murdered.

Durec is pleading to the public for any information on her cousin's death. "Please, if somebody knows something, please call the police," Durec said.

The investigation continues.
