NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A homeowner is busy making repairs to his backyard after a sport utility vehicle partially crashed into his pool.

The red Saturn SUV wound up in the shallow end of a pool in back of a house located at 178th Street and Northwest 84th Avenue, late Thursday morning. It was involved in a crash at an intersection nearby just before it came to stop, just barely inside the pool.

The driver somehow crashed through the home's fence and then skidded about 30 feet to stop halfway into a the pool. Towing crews had to bring in a crane to lift the vehicle out of the pool without causing any more damage.

The car wound up crashing against the pool's Jacuzzi, and the driver's side tires were left dangling in the pool's water. Fernando Ferrer and his son Alex rushed out of their home after they heard two bangs. That is when they saw the car in its odd position.

Father and son helped the driver out the passenger side. "We got around to the passenger side and just calmed her down," said Alex Ferrer, "sat her down, gave her some water. She was fine, she just had some chest pains."

"I didn't know what to do," said Fernando Ferrer. "I didn't know whether to help the lady, leave her alone, call 911, call rescue It was a shocking morning."

Though shaken up, the driver is doing fine and, she said, the other cars who were involved in the initial accident stayed on the scene.
