MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida family is still holding out hope 10 years after their daughter's murder that police will find her killer.

Gary Karp believes he is only a phone call away from learning what happened to his daughter Marissa 10 years ago.

Karp hopes Friday night, when her story is once again told on "America's Most Wanted," will be the night that police get the tip they need to bring her murderer to justice.

Ten years ago this month, deputies found 17-year-old Marissa's body in a canal in Broward County. She had been badly beaten and shot. Her body was placed in a garbage bag and dumped along Alligator Alley.

A fisherman would discover Marissa's remains. Her murder has remained a mystery, but her father said leads continue to come in, and he believes her case is close to being solved. "There are people that are watching this that know what happened, and once they realize how close we really are, there are people that are going to talk, " said Karp.
