Bouncer shot during club fight

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida bouncer is recovering in the hospital after being shot while breaking up a fight.

The altercation happened at Elbo Room nightclub along Las Olas Boulevard and A-1-A Friday night. Fort Lauderdale Police said as Christian Nunez jumped in the middle to stop the fight, the subject pulled out a gun and shot him in the stomach. "He's just a happy guy, does the hug, does the double kiss thing," said the club owner Michele Penrod. "He's just a sweet man; does his job well."

Nunez's family and friends are working to raise money to pay for his medical bills. "Just a show of support here and on social media as well and if you're online click that donation to help his family out; he's going to really need it" said the victim's friend, Jaime Garcia.

Nunez is currently in critical but stable condition.
