Firefighter hospitalized after near drowning

HAULOVER BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Lauderhill firefighter is in critical condition after nearly drowning off Haulover Park.

Twenty-six-year-old Joshua Schwaben-Bauer is being treated at Hollywood Memorial Hospital where he was rushed Monday afternoon.

Schwaben-Bauer was unconscious when a Good Samaritan pulled him out of the water on Labor Day.

Authorities said he suffered traumatic injuries.
