NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A local car salesman is speaking out after armed crooks tried to rob him at his dealership.

On Aug. 18, security cameras captured three men pulling up in a silver Impala. At the time, Wynn Errico was closing the dealership for the day. That is when one of the three men approached him and held him at gunpoint. "So, I told him, 'I don't have any money,' and he's saying, 'Where's the money, I want the money.'"

After Errico denied having cash, he said the robber demanded he hand over his cell phone. "I had the phone on my side. I took the phone off, and I threw it the other way across the alley," he said. "As soon as he looked, I took off down the alley."

That is when, Errico said, the robber fired three bullets. He dodged all of them.

One of the bullets struck a door to the dealership. As soon as the shots were fired, the gunman and his two accomplices ran back to their car and sped off with Errico's cell phone.

It turns out Errico had $1,000 cash on him when he was held at gunpoint. He said he lied to the robber and managed to keep his cash and stay alive. "Yeah, I don't like giving anything to anybody that doesn't earn it," he said. "If you want it, you better take it because I'm not giving it to you."

If you recognize the armed robber or his two accomplices, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
