Jury selected in teen murder case

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A man appeared in court accused of a high profile crime that occurred several years ago.

A jury was selected for the Joel Lebron case on Monday. Lebron is one of five men from Orlando who was arrested in the rape and murder of a teenage girl back in 2002.

Ana Angel, 18, and her boyfriend were taking a late night stroll on South Beach, when a gang of men abducted them.

The couple was thrown into a pickup truck where the girl was repeatedly raped then shot execution style and left on the side of Intersate 95.

The boyfriend was stabbed repeatedly and dumped out of the car in Fort Lauderdale but survived.

Two other suspects in this case have been convicted of first degree murder.
