Several cars burglarized in local community

NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating after more than a dozen cars were burglarized Friday morning.

Several residents at the Riverwood Condo Communities, located at 19416 NE 26 Ave., woke up to find their cars ransacked. "The whole row. My girlfriend parked here last night; her car got hit," said Michael Chaves.

More than 15 cars at the gated community were broken into. This is the second time in just weeks. The car windows were smashed and some items were taken. This has left at least one resident angry. "I don't know if it's a bunch of kids that are jumping over the perimeter wall, but it's upsetting," said Hillary Bandilober. "The alarms don't go off, so obviously, they know how to quietly access the interior."

Police said there is no surveillance video of the burglaries.
