Officer caught speeding fired

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Miami Police officer who was who was pulled over by a state trooper for speeding is now getting the ax.

Fausto Lopez was pulled over on the Florida Turnpike in Hollywood last year for speeding more than 100 miles per hour by a Florida highway Patrol trooper.

Lopez pleaded no contest and agreed to community service and fines.

A report later recommended his firing after finding he had regularly sped in his cruiser while off duty.
